Debuted in November 2019, available to view through Apple’s website, Apple TV app or other Apple devices, there was a large reach of service. Apple started large with having original series available at the time of the launch, although it wasn’t as popular at the beginning so in 2020 started licensing older shows to stay competitive to other services. With any purchase of an Apple device, you can receive a free year of Apple TV+, otherwise you can start with a free trial month to see if you like the content. Once you are subscribed to Apple TV+, there are other streaming services that you can add onto your subscription to access more video content. This is how they generate their revenue is through subscription services, although they are still quite low.
